CHANGES IN THE HUPC BOARD: FAREWELL, SEAN KEARNEY!

The consummate board member, Sean Kearney is moving on... and with that we both regret his move west to California (in a couple of weeks he has already explored trails throughout the huge wilderness complex of the central Sierra Nevada) and wish him, wife Sheila, and son Bobby the deepest and most profound love.

Board members like Sean come around all too infrequently. He never missed board meetings and actually seemed to enjoy them! He participated in everything HUPC did, often with a healthy wit, probing wisdom and surprised us every single meeting with his note taking skills and humor. His poetry left something to be desired-- his only obvious weakness-- but he has promised to work on that. To that extent let us send him off with the deepest and most penetrating thoughts of Gary Snyder in his collection, Turtle Island. Dick Carter
