FARE THEE WELL, PAUL FRITZAn extraordinary conservation elder and a decent man, Paul Fritz died on Christmas Eve as a result of a malignant brain tumor. Paul was a career National Park Service Employee, one time Superintendent of the Craters of the Moon National Monument, retired for many years and involved in dozens of conservation groups, always with a vision and passion for wildness that never ceased. I met him in the mid-70s when we first organized the Utah Wilderness Association and Fritz was adamant at being in from the first! The same with HUPC in 1996, even though he was slowed down a tiny bit because of health concerns. For a number of years he has divided his time between Boise and St. George and we will miss him. Fare thee well, Paul Fritz! Dick Carter
