WELCOME TO THE BOARD, SHARON EMERSON

What's an evolutionary biologist who studied tropical frogs in Borneo doing on the board of directors of HUPC? The answer is that the same biological principles that apply to the rainforests of Asia also can be used to help preserve wild areas of the Uintas and guide management of the non-wilderness. I am also a westerner born and raised in California and have lived in the Wasatch Mountains for almost twenty years. I began backpacking at the age of ten and have spent the majority of my life working in and around the out-of-doors.

I am a great admirer of the commitment and accomplishments of the HUPC. It is a great privilege to work with this crew of dedicated, intelligent people!
